Pick up recycling boxes and bags in person

You can get your blue box and recycling bags immediately by picking them up in person.

Remember to bring ID that shows you live in Vancouver when picking up your blue box and recycling bags.

Order recycling boxes and bags by phone

If you can not pick up your blue box or recycling bags in person, you can order them by phone.

Phone 3-1-1 to order a recycling box or bags

When you call 3-1-1, you will need to provide the following information:

• Your name, and address, including postal code
• The quantity of blue boxes needed (maximum 4 per household)
• Whether you want a single or double recycling bag kit
  • Single kit: one yellow bag and one blue bag
  • Double kit: two yellow bags and two blue bags

Important: You must pick up your bags in person if you want a custom combination of bags, or more bags than the City provides in its recycling kits.

Wait times for orders by phone

There is a wait time when you order a blue box or recycling bags by phone. Blue boxes are delivered to your home and can take up to two weeks to arrive. Recycling bags are mailed out and may take up to 15 business days to arrive.

When you order in person, you do not wait. You can pick up your blue box and recycling bags immediately.
