Keep Vancouver Spectacular
Every May, thousands of Vancouver volunteers take to the streets in our annual city-wide cleanup campaign: Keep Vancouver Spectacular.
Keep Vancouver Spectacular brings together individuals, business and neighbourhood groups to participate in cleanup projects.
Community volunteer cleanups are also supported year round.

Share in the spirit of working together for a great cause, and feel pride in your neighbourhood and our city.
Our clean streets are among the reasons why Vancouver is one of the most livable cities in the world. In 2012, 16,400 volunteers in 180 groups came together to fill more than 6,000 bags with litter, and we want to increase that number for 2013.
All cleanup teams receive:
- Garbage bags
- Gloves, cleanup tools
- Free pickup of litter collected
How to participate
You can participate in two ways:
1. Be a block captain
Organize a neighbourhood cleanup and clean your neighbourhood or another part of the city.
Once registered as a block captain:
- Pick a date for your cleanup
- Gather volunteers for your cleanup team
